Frequently asked questions
The questions we get every day, answered straight. If yours is not here, message us.
01 How much does commercial truck insurance cost?
It depends on several factors, including the type of operation, the cargo you haul, the number and value of your trucks, your driving history, years in business, operating radius, and the coverage limits you select.
Every trucking business is unique, which is why your request is reviewed by a licensed advisor who compares multiple insurance markets to find the best combination of coverage and price. Contact us for a free, no-obligation quote tailored to your operation.
02 What documents are required?
To provide an accurate quote, we may request some or all of the following: USDOT Number, MC Number (if applicable), Driver's License or CDL, VIN, vehicle registration, current insurance policy (if available), loss runs, list of drivers, vehicle schedule and business information.
The required documents may vary depending on your operation and the insurance carrier.
03 Can I insure a new venture?
Yes. We work with insurance companies that offer coverage for new trucking businesses and first-time owner-operators.
New ventures may have fewer options and higher premiums due to limited operating history, but our advisors will help you find the most suitable coverage and guide you through the underwriting process.
04 How long does the quote process take?
In many cases we can provide preliminary quotes the same business day after receiving all the required information.
More complex operations, larger fleets or specialized cargo may require additional underwriting review, which can take one to three business days depending on the carrier.
05 How do I report a claim?
If you are involved in an accident or experience a covered loss: 1) Ensure everyone is safe and contact emergency services if necessary. 2) Report the accident to local authorities when required. 3) Take photographs of the vehicles, cargo and accident scene. 4) Gather information from all parties involved. 5) Contact your insurance carrier or our claims support team as soon as possible. 6) Provide all requested documentation to help process your claim quickly.
Our team is available to assist you throughout the claims process.
06 Can I finance my premium?
Yes. Many insurance companies and premium finance providers offer flexible payment options that let you spread the cost over monthly installments.
Available plans, down payment requirements and financing terms vary by carrier and underwriting approval. Your advisor will explain all available options before you purchase your policy.
07 Can I add vehicles after my policy starts?
Yes. Most policies allow you to add or remove vehicles during the policy term through an endorsement.
Just contact us with the vehicle information, including VIN, year, make and model. We process the request with your carrier and provide updated documents once the endorsement is issued. Note that adding a vehicle may change your premium.
